Unique Performer and Recording Artist Raff Pylon from Montreal is Expanding Horizons

Meet music artist Raff Pylon, real name Raphael Pilon, from Montreal, Canada. He’s a unique performer and recording artist who takes advantage of every opportunity at his grasp and that is what makes him successful.

Growing up, people have always called him “Raph” for short and so he altered his stage name to be “Raff Pylon” which he says he went with because it “was cool and easy to read across the globe”.

Raff’s talents are not limited to singing. He also plays multiple instruments which was influenced by listening to The Beatles from a young age and which the artist claims is his “biggest inspiration up to this day”.  This only broadened his horizons in music in regards to being open to a multitude of genres. When you listen to his music you can hear elements of both pop and rock which is something he has always been drawn to.

Throughout his growing career he’s had the opportunity of being featured on the Canadian version of The Voice “La Voix” Season 8 and even collaborated with Snoop Dogg on a Christmas song.

“That’s the reason why I’m always drawn to Pop Rock so much, even though I opened up my mind to so many different genres now and love to explore the boundaries of music!”

We wanted to get to know his story and share his talent.

What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?

When I started writing my own songs and playing in front of people, my life changed. It felt like I found my purpose, and people discovered a part of me that really caught the attention. So I felt like exploring that avenue more by going to College in Music and right when I graduated, my songs got on the radio! So that kinda confirmed it for me!

What’s one reason you are passionate about music?

It’s always been my best means of communicating the depths of my soul. The things that are hard to speak about, I can always sing about somehow.

Who in your life and your music has influenced you the most?

The Beatles and then Hedley, a famous Canadian band who’s bass player Tommy produced my first album, and truly I just trusted my gut after that for the rest of the way, with the help of a lot of great people over the years.

Do you have a favorite moment so far in your career?

Shooting the video for my song with Snoop Dogg is definitely a powerful moment. Not everybody gets to just hangout for a day with Snoop and actually have a song with him so I’ll remember that forever.

What were you doing before music?

The only other thing I ever did other than music is that I was an ice hockey coach for a time, specifically for goaltenders. I was a goalie myself growing up!

Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting? What inspired this project?

Luv Is Luv is a song I made with Grammy-Winning producers Afro Bros from the Netherlands. We wanted to make a song that would be an anthem of love for all, no matter what. We were also happy to add the social media star McKenzi Brooke to the song as a female collaborator.

Is there a specific lyric on this track that speaks to you most?

“Hearts are hearts, and love is love”. I know it’s not surprising cause it’s the hook, but it really is the most powerful part of this song and it tells the story right there!

Is there a hobby or business you do outside of music that you would like to share with us?

I have a podcast that I just started. It’s pretty early in the process but I’ll put some time in it when I can and see where it leads!

What’s next for you?

I am heading to the Netherlands to write and produce music with Afro Bros at their studios there, and we will also use the opportunity to perform Luv Is Luv during the Amsterdam Dance Event, a massive music convention and festival over there, so it’ll be a very interesting 2 weeks!

What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?

That no matter what happens in the world, no matter how you feel about yourself and others, love will always be the most powerful way to get you back on track! So give as much as you can, and share it with the ones you truly hold dear in your heart.
