Tristan Ray Finds “Peace with the Past” — and a New Beginning in Country Music
Today marks a turning point for Tristan Ray, an LA-born country artist who’s finally stepping out from behind the Hollywood curtain and into his own spotlight. His debut single, “Peace with the Past” (out today, October 15, 2025) via Venice Music — the forward-thinking label helmed by industry visionary Troy Carter, known for helping launch Lady Gaga, John Legend, and Meghan Trainor) is more than a song — it’s a reckoning.

Before music, Tristan spent years climbing the ladder in the entertainment world, working for industry powerhouses like Sony Pictures and Entertainment 360. He was the guy behind the scenes, helping A-listers chase their dreams while quietly burying his own. But when a career setback hit in 2023, it forced him to pause — and confront the one thing he’d been running from: his passion for writing songs.
That moment of loss became liberation. “Peace with the Past” captures that exact feeling — the messy, emotional work of letting go, forgiving yourself, and moving forward. Sonically, it blends the storytelling honesty of country with the melodic grit of early 2000s alt-rock, creating a sound Tristan calls “LA Country” — heartbreak wrapped in West Coast sun.
To bring his vision to life, Tristan leaned into his industry instincts but refused to go it alone. He sought mentorship from Izzy Escobar, a signed artist-songwriter who helped him sharpen his sound and story, and even had direct conversations with Troy Carter about how to launch authentically as an independent artist.
The result? A debut that doesn’t just introduce a new voice — it reclaims one.
To celebrate the release, Tristan hosted a self-produced launch night at Third Place Wine Bar in Costa Mesa, gathering over 150 people from across Southern California. The night featured performances from local acts Gracie Rey and A Village Above, proving that community — not algorithms — can still spark real connection.
“Peace with the Past” isn’t just about moving on from heartbreak; it’s about giving yourself permission to begin again. It’s about a guy who spent years helping others tell their stories — and finally found the courage to tell his own.
With raw vocals, wide-open guitars, and an unapologetic sense of self, Tristan Ray is redefining what country sounds like when it comes from the coast. He’s not chasing Nashville. He’s carving his own lane — and he’s just getting started.
