Taylor Swift’s Longtime Bassist Bids Farewell to the Eras Tour
Amos Heller, who has played bass alongside Taylor Swift for over 15 years, is saying goodbye to the Eras Tour, calling it “the ride of a lifetime.” The tour concluded on Sunday, Dec. 8, in Vancouver, after an extraordinary journey across five continents, dozens of cities, and 152 shows. Heller took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to his time on the road with Swift, offering rare glimpses into the backstage life of the highest-grossing concert tour in history.
In his reflective post, the 47-year-old bassist shared several photos from the tour, including a memorable shot of Swift, 34, leaning back on his shoulder during the Fearless set.
“It’s done. No more early lobby calls. No more airports. No more lugging a suitcase and Mono bag up an escalator, through a line, out of baggage claim. No more warming up, no more cooling down,” Heller wrote. “No more looking at my watch 20 times to make sure I don’t miss a call. No more saying goodbye to my family, no more ‘How many sleeps now?’ No more jet lag. It’s done.”
His words encapsulate the demands of life on the road, but also the profound experience of being part of such a historic musical journey. Heller’s farewell post captures both the exhaustion and the deep gratitude that comes with closing such a monumental chapter.
