An arrest has been made for rapper Mystikal, real name Michael Tyler on Sunday, July 31 while spending time in Ascension Paris. Police received a call from a local hospital regarding a sexual assault victim sustaining minor injuries.
51 year old Tyler faces multiple charges including but not limited to rape in the first degree, domestic abuse, robbery, and false imprisonment according to Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office records.
This is not Tyler’s first run in with the law. In 2003 he served a six year sentence for a sexual battery case then in 2016 served another 18 month sentence for first degree rape and second degree kidnapping.
Tyler is best known for his album “Let’s Get Ready” which put him on top charts in the year 2000. Although his music career has stayed afloat, his run ins with the law are few and far in between.
According to the police of Ascension Parish the investigation is ongoing and the rapper will continue to be held without bond.
