Incredible Country Music Duo Presley & Taylor are making strides in the industry
Music group Presley & Taylor made the big move to Nashville, Tennessee four years ago to fulfill their dreams of having a successful music career. The duo are incredibly talented rising stars that will lift your spirits with their positive and upbeat country music.
Presley & Taylor grew up in Connecticut with a family who very much loved music. In fact, their grandfather who also served in the Navy is the one who introduced them to country music and even opened a Country music night club. Their parents share a “mutual love for country music and it has always been part of the soundtrack of our lives.”
Artist Unlocked wanted to know more about their musical upbringing:
As we got older we developed our own influences including the golden-era of Disney Pop (Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus), Rock and Roll, and of course, Country. As we grew into our own and became apart of the Nashville scene we fell in love with so many of the incredible songwriters and artists that this town has to offer. Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood to name a few have been huge inspirations to us when it comes to where we want to go in our career. We draw from all of these influences when creating our music. Presley has an edgier, more rock-influenced vibe and Taylor leans toward her love for pop music. We both have a deep love and appreciation for Country music. When you mix it all together you get the sound that is, Presley & Taylor.
We wanted to dive a little deeper:
What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career?
Deciding to pursue our career in music was the most natural decision we’ve ever made. Music has been and always will be a part of our lives. Even at times when we’d explore other options we’d always come back to our music career with a new found appreciation and drive to keep going. We truly believe that we are on the right path and we’re doing our best to enjoy the journey.
What’s one reason you are passionate about music?
Music is a gift and is such a special part of life. Music has always been there for us and if our music can be there for somebody else when they need it then we’ve done our job.
Who in your life and your music has influenced you the most?
We’ve had the honor of working with some incredible musicians, producers, songwriters, and artists over the life of our career so far. Each one has inspired us with their creative spirit and has really helped to shape who we are as artists.
Do you have a favorite moment so far in your career?
There are so many times when we look over at each other and are telepathically like…”this is so cool…is this actually happening?” One of those moments was the night that Pam Tillis invited to sing backup for her on the Grand Ole Opry. We had just released a song together called “Heart Over Mind” and when we were standing on the legendary stage at the Opry performing it we knew we were in an unforgettable moment.
What were you doing before music?
It is hard to remember life before music because it has always been a part of our lives. We moved to Nashville right after high school. We started “Presley & Taylor” by releasing some songs and performing them at radio stations around the country when Taylor was just a freshman in high school.
Tell us the name of the project you are currently promoting? What inspired this project?
We are so proud of the music we have out right now. We’ve been in the studio for most of 2022 working on our upcoming project. It is some of the most personal, fun, sad, and everything in-between songs that we’ve ever recorded. We cannot wait to share them starting at the top of 2023. To wrap up 2022 in a bow we released one of our favorite Christmas classics, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, available on all streaming platforms as of November 18th.
Is there a specific lyric on this track that speaks to you most?
One of the first tracks we’re releasing is an empowerment song and a reminder that there is no one out there like you. Fav lyric from the song is “don’t you know it ain’t even a competition….I’m Limited Edition”.
What’s next for you?
2023 is full of new music, shows, music videos, and more. We can’t wait to release all of the songs we’ve been working on this year!
What message do you hope fans take away from your music and from this project?
We hope that this upcoming project is somewhere that girls like us can go to when they need it. When they need to turn up the speaker and dance with their friends, when they’re heartbroken, when they need a reminder of who they are, when they want to see the positive in losing someone who doesn’t know how amazing they are. We’re basically sharing what we’ve gone through as sisters, women, and people just trying to grow up over the past two years. So if anyone out there has been going through what we’ve been going through then hopefully you can relate to this project and love it because a lot of love and life went into making it.
