Final-round voting for the 67th Grammy Awards has officially begun

The final-round voting for the 67th Grammy Awards has officially begun, opening on Friday (Oct. 4).

This year, Grammy voters are sifting through a massive list of entries across 89 categories, as the race for one of music’s highest honors intensifies. In the prestigious General Field, five of the six categories have seen significant increases in the number of entries. Record of the Year boasts 780 entries, up from 615, while Album of the Year jumped to 707 from 476. Song of the Year skyrocketed to 978 entries, and both Songwriter and Producer of the Year (non-classical) also saw slight upticks. However, Best New Artist took a dip, with only 323 entries, marking the smallest pool in five years.

One of the key insights is how competitive these categories have become. For example, only eight songs will secure nominations for Song of the Year, leaving 970 others on the cutting room floor. The competition is fierce, and as often said, it truly is an honor just to be nominated.

Additionally, five Grammy categories still have nominations determined by committees rather than by voters at large, such as Best Recording Package and Best Historical Album.

As voting continues until Oct. 15, the nominations will be revealed on Nov. 8, with final voting taking place from Dec. 12 to Jan. 3. The winners will be unveiled at the 67th Grammy Awards ceremony on Feb. 2 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
